Don’t let balancing your pool water intimidate you! Keep it simple! Always remember to test your PH and Alkalinity first, adjust them, and then test your Chlorine. If your PH and Alkalinity are not balanced, your Chlorine reading will be off. Another good practice to follow is to always “use less”. Example: if after testing your water you have determined that 2lbs. of shock is required, add only 1lb. and retest a couple of hours later. Remember you can always add more but you can’t take too much away! If you need help there are several websites available including www.taylortechnologies.com. which can help you evaluate your chemical readings. Also, most of your local pool supply stores offer free water testing. Enjoy your pool and “Keep it Simple”.
