Paul Oman acquired The Pool Man in the spring of 2024. His journey into the pool industry began nearly a decade ago when he was approached to assist in the sale of Texas Pools in The Woodlands. Instead of facilitating the sale, Paul saw an opportunity and decided to purchase the company himself. After his more recent acquisition of The Pool Man, we are proud to now call Texas Pools our “sister company”. In addition to his pool construction and design knowledge, Paul brings with him a strong background in accounting with a focus on mergers and acquisitions.
Since then, he has fully immersed himself in the world of pools, dedicating himself to mastering every aspect of the business. His hands-on approach is evident—he even purchased his own excavation equipment and has personally dug pool foundations on occasion. Paul is constantly expanding his expertise, and his passion for learning has led him to achieve the prestigious Master CBP (Certified Master Pool Builder & Design Professional) certification from the Pool & Hot Tub Alliance (PHTA). This is the fourth and highest level of certification awarded by the PHTA, requiring over 150 hours of GENESIS® courses, with an additional 36 hours of continuing education required every three years—an amount Paul far exceeds.
Beyond his own education, Paul is dedicated to elevating the pool industry as a whole. He serves on the education board and as treasurer for the Southwest Pool and Spa Show (SWPSS), where he helps identify and recruit top-tier educators to lead classes at the show and assists with other areas of show management. Paul also served as the president of the Pool and Hot Tub Association (“PHTA”) Houston Chapter for three years and still volunteers his time on the board. His commitment to excellence, innovation, and industry advancement ensures that The Pool Man continues to provide the highest level of expertise and craftsmanship to every project.
Paul studied at the University of Virginia and Brigham Young University, where he honed his analytical and business skills. He also spent time in Peru, where he served a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and became fluent in Spanish.
Outside of his professional life, Paul and his wife, Melissa, are the proud parents of five children. He is deeply involved in his faith, serving as the bishop of his ward. In his free time, he enjoys ranching and raising livestock, as well as hunting, basketball, and football.
With a strong sense of family values, Paul has proven to be the perfect fit to lead The Pool Man Family into the future. His vision aligns with the company's long-standing commitment to quality, integrity, and customer satisfaction, ensuring our founder’s hard work and dedication will continue to thrive and grow under Paul's leadership.
