Pool Renovation in Bridgeland, Cypress TX

Not every great pool story starts from scratch. If you bought an existing home in Bridgeland — or if you've been there a while and your pool is starting to show its age — a renovation can completely change the look and feel of your backyard without the cost and timeline of building new.

The Pool Man has a dedicated renovation team that operates separately from our new construction crews. It's led by Laurie Barry, our Renovations Manager, and supported by Daniel King, who oversees the physical work on-site. Between the two of them, they've transformed hundreds of pools across the Houston area.

What Pool Renovation in Bridgeland Usually Involves

Every renovation is different, but some of the most common projects we handle for Bridgeland homeowners include:

  • Resurfacing — Pool plaster has a lifespan of roughly 10 to 15 years. When it starts to look rough, feel rough, or develop discoloration, resurfacing brings it back to life. We work with Pebble Tec, quartz, and exposed aggregate finishes that are more durable and more visually interesting than basic white plaster.
  • Tile and coping replacement — The tile line at the watermark is one of the first things to show age, and coping (the material along the pool edge) can crack, shift, or just go out of style. Updating both makes an enormous visual difference.
  • Decking upgrades — Concrete decking can be resurfaced with spray-deck, or replaced entirely with travertine, natural stone, or pavers. If your deck looks dated or has developed cracks, this is one of the highest-return upgrades you can make.
  • Equipment upgrades — Older pumps, heaters, and automation systems are inefficient by modern standards. A variable-speed pump alone can cut your energy costs significantly. We can also add automation so you're controlling your pool from your phone.
  • Water and fire features — Adding a sheer descent, a fire bowl, or LED color lighting to an existing pool is a great way to give it a completely new personality without tearing anything out.
  • Structural repairs — Cracks, leaks, and plumbing issues are something we assess and address as part of the renovation process.

Why Homeowners in Bridgeland Work With Us for Renovations

A few things come up in almost every renovation review we hear from customers:

Laurie and Daniel communicate constantly. A renovation involves multiple crews working in sequence — plastering, tile, decking, electrical, equipment. Coordinating all of that on your property while keeping you in the loop takes real effort. Our customers consistently mention this as what sets the experience apart.

We visit your home before giving you a quote. Laurie comes out to assess the project in person, not just from photos. That means the estimate you get is accurate, and there are fewer surprises once the work begins.

We follow through on the timeline. Renovation projects always have variables — weather, material lead times, the occasional surprise once a wall is opened up. We communicate those things to you in advance and adjust the schedule accordingly rather than just going quiet.

What Our Customers Say

"I cannot say enough about this wonderful team. I worked primarily with Laurie and Daniel for my renovation and when I say they keep you in the loop and go the extra mile for you, I really mean it — we maintained a group chat and everything. This has been my first truly positive experience with a contracted project of any size at my house. The teams they work with are equally excellent — crews showed up earlier than expected, stayed later than they probably needed to, and were quite tidy."

— Deborah C., Shadowbriar, Houston

"After getting three bids on my pool remodel I decided on going with Laurie Barry. I'm so happy I did. She did an amazing job on my project that consisted of Pebble Tec Clearwater Brilliance, new tile and lighting, and bead blasting my rock waterfall that had years of calcium buildup. I received great communication every step of the way from Laurie and a special thanks to Daniel for also overseeing the project."

— Randall L., Fairfield, Cypress
